Is it normal for my new orthotics to hurt my feet?
It is very common for new orthotics to hurt. Begin by wearing your orthotics 1-2 hours the first day and slowly increase the wear time over a week or so. If the problem persists, contact ARMAC.
It's longer than a week and the orthotics still hurt. Is it normal?
Your foot problems took time to develop and it may take time for the symptoms to go away. Orthotics will allow your feet to function more comfortably but will not change the underlying problem of the foot.
My orthotics feel good but the arches don’t feel right. What should I do?
Arch adjustments are common in about 10% of new orthotics. Call us to make an appointment.
Can I re-shape my orthotics to fit in my shoes?
Orthotics are generally designed to fit into sneakers, which are wider, have a closed toe and lower heel than most other shoes. DO NOT attempt to cut the hard material. Call ARMAC to make these adjustments. If necessary, you may need to be fitted for specialty orthotics to be used with dress shoes, flats, work boots or sandals.
Why do my shoes squeak when I wear my orthotics?
An adjustment period is needed between the shoe and the orthotic, which can take up to two weeks of continual wear. Try sprinkling baby powder in the shoe.
How do I clean my orthotics?
Periodically wipe them with a damp towel. DO NOT place them in a washer machine or submerge them in water. This will destroy the orthotic.
